Our Payment Options
We’ve all experienced strains on our budgets, which is why our team is happy to accept a variety of payment options including all major credit cards, Trupanion pet insurance, as well as CareCredit and Scratchpay to make providing your pet with the necessary care as convenient and affordable as possible.
Trupanion
Prairie Animal Hospital has partnered with Trupanion pet insurance to make caring for your pet easy and affordable. With Trupanion, we can process payments directly at the time of checkout, which means no more paying out of pocket for services and waiting for reimbursements. Through their comprehensive coverage and unlimited payouts, Trupanion helps you ensure your pet receives the quality care they deserve.
CareCredit
When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well. Prairie Animal Hospital understands this and accepts payment through the CareCredit program. CareCredit is a credit card that offers various flexible monthly payment plans to suit your budget. There is no interest on payments in the first 6 months. Approval is often given on the same day of applying, and you can begin using CareCredit before your card arrives in the mail.
Scratchpay
Scratchpay is a non-credit card payment plan option that enables your pet to receive comprehensive care and allows you to pay for it within affordable monthly increments that best suit your financial situation. Seeing if you prequalify and applying to Scratchpay does not impact your credit score. Whether it’s routine wellness, preventive care, or an unexpected illness, Scratchpay can help make financing your pet’s healthcare more affordable.

Financial Policy
Payment is due at the time services are rendered or as stated in your monthly wellness plan. Payments can be made by any of the payment methods mentioned above. If arrangements are needed and approved by management, these must be agreed upon prior to your pet being admitted to the hospital. Delinquent balances may be sent to a collection agency for further action. You are responsible for any fees from using a collection agency, attorney or any outside party to collect delinquent balances. Please let us know immediately if any of these terms are not satisfactory to avoid any misunderstandings.
Deposit and No Show Policy
All new clients must put down a deposit equal to the cost of your pet’s exam to confirm your scheduled appointment time. You may reschedule your appointment 24 hours prior to your scheduled time and your deposit will still apply. This deposit will be used toward any charges on your invoice on the day of your pet’s appointment. If you do not come to your scheduled appointment time, this deposit will be put toward our no-show fee of $54. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please do so within at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time.
Wellness Plan Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your wellness plan membership at any time, but you will still be responsible for the full cost of all services rendered except for what you have already paid for the membership. You can cancel the membership by paying these fees or paying the remaining balance if it's less than the non-discounted fees. In addition, although we understand how difficult it can be to lose a pet, you will still be responsible for wellness membership payments even if your pet is no longer with you.
